I paint what it hides. »

The Artist

Daniel Blaclard
alias BLACDAN

Born in the heart of the Lot, trained in Reims, settled in Provence: a journey guided by one conviction — art must say differently what words can no longer express.

« I don't paint the beauty of the world, I paint what it hides. »

Daniel Blaclard

From the age of twelve, I exhibited and sold my first canvases. I painted the landscapes, streets and châteaux of the Lot valley. These early works expressed the soul of my homeland.

After artistic training at the Blot school in Reims, I had to balance my work as a decorative painter with my passion for creative art, never stopping to exhibit.

At thirty, drawn by the light of Provence, I settled there. In 1994, I made a radical turn. I felt the need to express myself differently. The idea of the Circus Games took hold — my work became expressive, surrealist, satirical. It touches the subconscious.
